In the 1960s, baseball fan Merl Ledford received a few pitching lessons from minor league player Zach Monroe. Decades later, Ledford says that the lessons Monroe taught helped him to lead a successful life. After mailing a letter to the MLB, he was able to meet the man who influenced him so long ago.
