Saku MP Hon. Dido Ali Rasso has called on the Marsabit County Commissioner to ensure that the recruitment of National Police Reservists (NPR) is conducted fairly and based on a thorough need assessment involving both authorities and local communities.
Speaking during the NPR pass-out ceremony in Marsabit, presided over by Deputy Inspector General of Police, Hon. Rasso stressed the importance of a transparent and equitable process. He assured that neither he nor his counterpart, Hon. Joseph Lekuton, MP for Laisamis—who was also present—would interfere with the recruitment.
“The gaps you, as authorities and locals, identify should be addressed appropriately without political interference. Let the process be guided solely by need,” Hon. Rasso stated.
The ceremony, attended by various leaders, highlighted the critical role NPR officers play in addressing security challenges in Marsabit County.
