Despite the lack of salmon on the menu, the Klamath Salmon Festival celebrated the removal of four century-old dams on the Klamath River, an effort to restore the river ecosystem and its salmon runs.
Following some of the lowest forecasted fish runs on the Klamath River, Tribal leaders halted fishing this year to allow the decimated Chinook salmon population to recover.
