Me solving the New York Times Crossword for 12/10/2024
Well that was a struggle, as demonstrated by me not getting a foothold for quite some time and my need to run through the alphabet on 39D. Mixed feelings with this one. Once I found that foothold, which was 58A, it was satisfying to slowly puzzle out the rest of the puzzle and the stacks were very good. But then there was some really ugly fill like DESE (that answer can suck dese nuts), RUS, MUDS, MOS, AGS, CCCP, BYO (bring your own what?) that left a sour taste in my mouth and ended the puzzle on a bum note. In the end I rated it ‘poor’ on the r/crossword subreddit forum.
